BASIC FUNCTION: Full time position, nine-month contract. The position includes instructional responsibility for courses including but not limited to: Principles of Accounting, Marketing, Marketing Research, Human Resource Management, Compensation Management, Employment Law, Risk Management, and Macro and Micro Economics. Teaching assignments may include other course work within the disciplines of Accounting and Business and will include assignments within the Arts and Sciences as well as Vocational/Technical programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Masters degree appropriate to the fields of instruction; exhibit knowledge in both accounting and related business disciplines; and ability to work with a wide range of students required. Course work related to post-secondary education; Masters degree in Business Administration; previous collegiate level instructional experience in the discipline and/or related disciplines; and ability to provide effective instruction in a broad spectrum of courses within the disciplines of accounting and related business preferred. The successful applicant for this position will be required to meet the instructor certification requirements as established by the Board of Educational Examiners (see enclosed information). 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct effective instruction in all assigned areas, using approved course outlines.
2. Develop and maintain current course syllabi/outlines for assigned courses.
3. Notify the Division Dean, Vice President of Instructional Services, or individual in charge as early as possible of inability to meet a class.
4. Measure and evaluate student progress and maintain accurate grade computations. Submit grade reports to Student Services according to designated timelines.
5. Attend all faculty and division meetings and serve on college committees as appropriate.
6. Schedule and meet with program advisory committee a minimum of once per year.
7. Recommend library books and films.
8. Assist in the budgeting process by identifying instructional materials and equipment.
9. Counsel, advise, and/or refer students as appropriate.
10. Maintain teaching certificate for the State of Iowa, post-secondary endorsement, and approve to teach the specific subject or program area where assigned.
11. Assist in promotion and recruitment of the instructor's respective program(s).
12. Submit requisitions for needed supplies to immediate supervisor.
13. Serve as a resource person for students and graduates regarding job opportunities.
14. Enforce all Northwest Iowa Community College student policies.
15. Participate in professional development activities.
16. Provide students written course expectations, including course objectives, attendance policy, methods of evaluation, and grading practices.

BASIC FUNCTION: The Student Services Coordinator will have six basic functions:
1. Financial Aid Advising and Data Assimilation
2. Veteran's Advisor
3. Campus Tours
4. Career Center
5. Follow-up with Potential Students
6. Student Issues

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in administering federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs.
2. Provide financial aid counseling to students and parents.
3. Administer the work-study program.
4. Coordinate the implementation of the financial aid probation/suspension policy.
5. Monitor all scholarships, award amounts, and continual eligibility.
6. Assess accuracy and understandability of publications to assure that adequate financial aid information is provided to the students.
7. Administer Veterans Benefits Program.
8. Assist with campus tours.
9. Assist with Career Center activities, i.e. assessment, career exploration, placement, and alumni.
10. Coordinate ASSET including administration, scheduling, and analyzing data.
11. Establish linkage among various concerned agencies.
12. Assist in and coordinate calling potential students.
13. Provide assistance in working with students with academic challenges.
14. Make recommendations for Student Services and College improvement.
15. Attend local staff meetings, regional, state, and professional meetings, and belong to those organizations, which will promote continued professional growth.
16. Keep the Vice President of Student and Community Services informed of all activities.
17. Serve on teams and committees.

The Student Services Coordinator shall function to carry out all duties without detailed, day-to-day supervision.
